cheap property, world-class pawn shops

I FINALLY got to see Todd Steed and the Suns of Phere live today! They were playing a live show at the Disc Exchange in South Knoxvile. Our real estate agent went with us. They played TennCare Buzz and Freebird 2 (the little-known sequel to Freebird 1)! Wahoo! They're so amazing live! Todd's a big ham which makes for a good show. I mean, it was a tiny, free concert for their new album, but they put on one hot performance. He even told us if we took off "those little silver things" we wouldn't beep when we went out the door. That way he gets paid, we get the album, and "most everybody's happy". Todd Steed makes me love my scummy little city even more than I did before. And I didn't think that was possible. Bless you, Mr. Steed!

Kristy and I found a house that we LOOOOVE. It's in South Knoxville (who knew?) on Island Home Blvd. It's at the tip-top of our price range, but it's amazing that it's in our price range at all. Good God, it's gorgeous and in such good condition. It's catty-corner to a grave yard and overlooks The Tennessee School for the Deaf. In the distance you can see the mountains. It's in the city, but it feels secluded. The things I like most about it are: 1) The porch. It's in excellent condition for an older house. It's big and solid. Yay! 2) The bathroom. It has a clawfoot tub and seperate shower. The toilet is in its own little enclave. Quaint! 3) THE BUILT-IN CHURCH PEW! Yes ma'am. It's right next to the fireplace in the living room. The seat opens up and HOLY MOSES...extra storage! This is by far the coolest thing I've seen in a house. I've not felt this way about any of the other houses we've looked at. We really really want it. So so bad.

I had the sweetest dream last night. I dreamed I was going to heaven with a group of others. It wasn't like I had died or anything. I guess that part wasn't important. Anyway, one of the people in the group let me know that before you go to heaven, you throw your money into the air, and with each bill (for some reason it was only dollar bills...even in my dreams I'm broke!) you call out a blessing for someone. So I opened up my wallet and tossed my dollars into the air shouting "bless Robert" (That's my brother. I remember starting with Robert), "bless Mom", "bless Dad"...I went on to "bless" my grandparents and Kristy. I even blessed Aaron, which I think is a good sign. My psyche is growing up! :D So by throwing your money and calling out blessings for all of these people, it would ensure that they would have a happy life after you are gone. I remember crying because I was so happy to know that they would have a good future.

Living in knoxville without a porch is like living in seattle without a roof.

:D

That's how I feel. It just doesn't make good sense to go without one.

That's so awesome! On all three accounts! *smiles*

I'm especially happy for you that you've found a house that you really like. That sounds just about perfect for you. Hee! Man, now I want a built-in church pew.... Not that L would let me have one. He'd be too afraid that it'd start to smoke if he sat on it. *smiles*

Yay for dreams like that! It's such a good feeling when your psyche gives you a gift like that. Knowledge that things will be alright and that you're maturing past stuff from your past. If only those moments came more often...

Yeah, about this buying a house thing...

I just figured out how to get to the house ya'll live in now and if you moved, that would just cause a lot of confusion and more lostness on my part. So, um... I'm vetoing the buying of a new house. You just have to stay where youre at. Sorry. Thems the breaks.

(Not really! Good luck with this one!)

One thing I dont like about WUTK is that they're not very consistent about telling the listener who the song they just played is by and what the title is. I hear some good stuff on there, but I dont know who sings it. I really want a copy of that East Town Mall song.

I know! When they have reliable djs, they'll tell you what song is by whom, but otherwise you're out of luck. Sometimes you can go to the forums on the website and they'll put up playlists, but I don't think they do it during the summer...
